Looking for assistance with PCIe performance? Let me know what you need!
Hi everyone. My computer has been behaving oddly lately. I recently turned it on and saw a warning about the x16 slot switching from PCIe 4.0 to 3.0. Before that, I had cleaned out the side panel to remove dust carefully. I wasn’t sure if I had disturbed any connections. Also, after updating Iracing and its MSI afterburner overlay stopped working until I fixed it. Then I tried Steam and RDR2, but when I logged in with my Rockstar account I lost all my saved settings—everything was set to default. After checking with GPU-Z, the PCIe speed showed 4.0, but the slot was actually running at 3.0. Updating the driver didn’t help. I’m not sure what’s causing this issue. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Restart BIOS and reattach the GPU This doesn't clarify the RDR2 odd behavior though...
It means returning the computer's firmware settings to their original configuration, often to fix issues or restore default behavior.
I own a 5800X3D B550 board with an ASUS 3070 Ti GPU. There’s no riser available. Dust removal involved placing two SSDs at the bottom of the case, doing some general cleaning inside, and checking the GPU cooler. Regarding the PCB, I didn’t do it on purpose, but there’s a chance I might have touched the motherboard or the GPU board.
