After reviewing some YouTube tutorials, I attempted to overclock my Ryzen 1600. I adjusted the settings as follows: CPU frequency set to 3900 with a 39 multiplier (3.9GHz), CPU voltage at 1.4 volts, DRAM enabled with XMP profile 1 at 2400MHz and 1.35 volts. After making these changes, I restarted my PC, which booted successfully and confirmed the overclock in the CPU zone. Then I tried benchmarking with Cinebench, but the screen went black during the run. The CPU was running but no output appeared, so I had to shut it down immediately using the power switch. I repeated this process a few times without success. The CPU temperature stayed within normal limits (50-63 max). Could you help me?

I kept attempting overclocking and succeeded at 3.8 Ghz. This time the DRAM voltage was set to AUTO with XMP enabled, and the CPU voltage was at 1.35 volts. I ran a stress test and reached a maximum temperature of 80°C, while the normal range is between 50-60°C. Performance improved by about 95 points on Cinebench—from 1136 to 1235—and I’m really pleased.

I tried overclocking again and succeeded at 3.8 Ghz. This time the DRAM voltage is set to AUTO with XMP enabled, and the CPU voltage is 1.35 volts. Could you tell me the highest safe overclock speed for a Ryzen 1600 with the stock Wrath Spire cooler? If the temperatures under load are around 80°C, that’s the right setting.

Not too bad, I have the same CPU and I'm running 3.7 on stock. Considering a Hyper 212, though most units are only hitting around 4GHz at their peak. Maybe I won't go for it.

Vellinious :
i once more attempted overclocking and succeeded at 3.8 Ghz. This time the DRAM voltage was set to AUTO with XMP enabled, and the CPU voltage was at 1.35 volts. I performed a stress test and reached a maximum temperature of 80°C. The normal operating range is between 50-60°C.
I’m curious about the highest safe overclock speed for a Ryzen 1600 on the stock Wraith Spire cooler. If the temperatures during load reach 80°C, that’s likely the limit.
No sir... at 80°C under full core utilization, it’s probably the cap.

Consider lowering the voltage slightly. I'm currently at 3.7 with a temperature around 1.3, and it might be worth reducing the overclock to 3.7 to observe the changes in temperatures.

Hey everyone, thanks for the answers. I believe my maximum speed on the stock cooler is around 3.8 GHz, but after overclocking it stops working properly—there’s a black screen when I power on. I’m probably going to need an aftermarket cooler to push it further.
