Hey there, the file was damaged and I saved my GTAV that way. Can I download it back from Rockstar’s site now? Since I got it as a physical copy, not from Steam, should I be able to get it working again? Or does it seem lost and I’ll have to buy a new one?

You mentioned receiving a hard copy, but it seems like you want to know if you need to purchase a new one instead.

All my titles are physical copies—just put the DVD in and click setup, and it will prompt you to remove or fix the file. If you have HARD COPY social club repairs, the games launch automatically even if there’s an issue. It seems a corrupted game is already detected before it starts, not just for beginners. Each title includes a repair feature; you don’t need to delete games to resolve problems.

Reinstall the drive completely and in the stalled menu there should be a choice to fix GTA 5

The hard drive is still working but the file won’t open properly. Moving it to the new drive shouldn’t help unless the corruption is fixed.

This will launch the setup, choose the repair option. If it doesn’t start automatically after insertion, load the DVD and proceed with the setup.
