I own Far Cry 3 on PC. I’ve played it locally at home and can push it to its limits. It’s visually appealing and entertaining. Currently in college, I don’t have a dedicated desktop but use my laptop. The main issue is a black screen with the game running, though the audio plays normally. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the game, turned off all Uplay overlays, and even installed Punk Buster manually from Steam’s support folder. I checked the game cache and disabled GeForce Experience overlays, but it still won’t launch properly. Please help!

If Far Cry 3 supports a 750ti processor, it will also work on a 960m processor.

You attempted to eliminate Shadowplay in GFExp, tried updating drivers, and are unsure if using Alt+Tab opens the game or keeps you in a black screen without any options.

Begin with the game in SteamApp, click right-click, select Properties, then General, and adjust Launch Options. To modify the resolution externally, enter -w 800 -h 600 initially. This forces the game to launch on a smaller screen. When it starts, you can switch the resolution to match your display. This worked for many of my games as well—screen would blank but a message appeared indicating the resolution was higher than the native setting (1360 x 768). Give it a try and let me know what happens!

I understand, I managed to surpass it on my desktop and I'm eager to try it again in class. Thanks!

I couldn't complete that. You're attempting to download the game via UPlay instead of Steam.
