Looking for assistance with easeUS Partition Software?
I recently acquired a new 240gb SSD and am attempting to transfer my operating system from my 2tb HDD. I used the easeUS master partitioning tool. The issue arose when opening the "Migrate OS" wizard, which indicated my SSD was too small. Windows 10 requires around 20 gigabytes, leaving me stuck without a clear solution. Appreciate any assistance!
Obtain a bootable disk cloner, start it and perform a zero-space clone. Windows cloners often struggle because they can't access files in use, leading them to image the whole drive—including empty areas—then copy the data. This approach works best for identical drives but may not be reliable when the drives differ in size.
I don’t have specific programs to suggest, but I can recommend some free options.
I've relied on this tool for more than four years without any issues. I also use the same download to obtain it. Partition Wizard Free lets you select what's already in use, creating a perfect clone that's aligned and bootable. After the copy, it restarts and copies files in a pre-Windows setup, ensuring no active processes interfere with the process.
More choices should exist to match the existing files exclusively on the SSD from the HDD without issues. It shouldn't attempt to copy 2TB onto the SSD but only transfer the utilized portion of the HDD data for cloning. Perhaps consider using the copy command instead of clone.
