I acquired some funds to build a development environment for game creation. I’m using tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, GameDev tools, Unity, UE4, etc. I’m also learning programming mainly in Python. Feeling a bit bored with gaming, I aim to create engaging 2D and eventually 3D projects. I have an SSD 120 GB for the operating system and my old 1TB HDD for primary storage. For CPU selection, I have three choices: 1. Xeon E5 2628L v4 + MS X99 SLI (used), 2. Ryzen 5 2600/3600/7200 with BIOS AM4 B450M, or 3. Intel i5 9400F with BIOS H110MDE. All options support 2x8 GB DDR4 RAM, though speeds will vary—Ryzen models like the 3200+ should perform better. I plan to use this setup for game development and occasional gaming at 1080p on my monitor, with the option to switch to a 4K TV later when I upgrade the GPU. All three configurations are similar in price, though the Intel model is about $50 cheaper than the first two. They’re future-proof and will help with current projects.
The Ryzen 3600 looks promising, and upgrading the GPU will let you handle 4K editing.
