Looking for assistance in locating a network card slot?

Hey there! I installed Mac OS on my HP laptop and everything is working fine, except for a couple of issues. The audio isn’t functioning properly, I’ve bought a USB audio adapter, but the Wi-Fi isn’t connecting. I’m thinking about getting a compatible Wi-Fi card and checked some recommended ones online. I’m unsure if those cards will fit since my laptop uses a mini PCIE slot or a M.2 port. The one shown in the picture didn’t fully fit but still worked. Thanks for your help!

Hi there! It’s not unusual to find such combinations—mini PCI-e slots can fit M.2 cards, and some manufacturers design them to work backward. Just confirm the specifications to ensure compatibility.

I found this in an old HP Mobo, hoping you're successful. HP handles their hardware in unique ways, so what you put in might not work properly—be sure to keep your receipts. The USB3.0 on the same Mobo was even fixed to prevent third-party connectors from connecting.

I strongly dislike M.2 drives. Figuring out whether it uses USB, PCIe, or both can be frustrating, especially when vendor BIOS restrictions complicate things. Would it be easier to simply check the slot and see what works?

Uncertain about the slot type. However, after upgrading my sister's HP laptop with a new WiFi adapter, I discovered a list of compatible cards on HP's website. It could be beneficial to check there first before proceeding.
