Looking for another SK Hynix 16GB RAM with dual-channel support, but it seems hard to locate.
Hi everyone, I received a SK Hynix RAM (HMAA2GU6AJR8N-XN) from DELL. I was hoping for a 3070 and the pre-built version is the only option available. I need another stick to use in dual-channel mode, as the Dell PC configuration only allows one 16GB stick. I lost my chance at the lottery because I learned that Dell typically provides either SK or Micron RAM, with the latter being compatible in terms of timing and other specs. Some Micron products are also made by Micron, so there might be options. I watched a video by Linus about mixing RAM with just two sticks, which helped me understand the process better. My main use is for 3D modeling software, and my primary game is Anno 1800, which can consume nearly all 16GB. Having 32GB would make a big difference. Appreciate any advice you can offer!
Combining memory modules isn't ideal under high-speed conditions or when more than two slots are used. Examining the specifications, it appears quite standard. You have two choices: either purchase another 16GB stick from SK Hynix that matches the speed and voltage, or trade in this stick for a complete new set featuring 2x16GB or 4x8GB modules. Opting for 4x8GB will enable a dual-rank setup, delivering optimal performance (assuming other factors remain constant).
