every time i boost my i7 6850k, only one core jumps to 4ghz while the rest stay at 3.8ghz. can i make all cores hit that 4ghz speed? i tried it before but would really appreciate some help. my board is a msi Gaming Pro Carbon x99 chipset

Do you need to choose between 'Sync All Cores' or 'Per Core' when starting in BIOS? If you accidentally picked Per Core but only changed the top core's speed while leaving others at their default 3.8GHz, they won't automatically update on their own. This was a quick fix I did myself on my board! If that happens to you, just switch back to Sync All Cores and set the right value for the first core; then everything else will adjust itself. If you accidentally picked Per Core but only changed the top core's speed while leaving others at their default 3.8GHz, they won't automatically update on their own. This was a quick fix I did myself on my board! If that happens to you, just switch back to Sync All Cores and set the right value for the first core; then everything else will adjust itself.
