Looking for an excellent network option in this area.
I'm a high-volume streamer with a lot of smart gadgets—over 25 items like lights, but also phones, consoles (3ds, Nintendo Switch Lite), smartwatches, tablets, and TVs. My gaming PC and Xbox use all five Ethernet ports, while my partner uses a PC at home and another at work. The wireless internet is stable, though the Eeros mesh network works fine. I’m switching to an ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 as the main router since it doesn’t interfere with Wi-Fi, and I plan to replace it with a better ASUS gaming router. The old one will go to the living room. I’m wondering if there’s a more suitable option.
You probably don’t require two routers. Is the Eeros system handling NAT/DHCP or are you applying double NAT through both the AX11000 and Eeros? You might want to skip that setup. Instead of a router, consider purchasing an access point to save on unnecessary features. Or, just swap out the AX11000 entirely if it doesn’t match your requirements.
Set up Network A using an Asus device, followed by Network B with an Eero system. This configuration may disrupt services needing port forwarding, gaming consoles, RDP connections, and more. File sharing could fail, smart devices might not appear, and casting to certain apps may not work across devices. Multiple DHCP servers can cause connectivity issues. For better stability, ideally one router should act as the main router while the other functions as a simple access point—turn off NAT/DHCP if possible. A user inquired about this four years ago; the recommended solution is Bridge Mode in the Eero app.
