I'm searching for a new router that supports Air Link. My Quest 3 doesn't work well with my ISP router, though it functions properly on its own. I've considered using the Windows Hotspot feature to create a Wi-Fi connection from my PC, but those options didn't work either. I'm planning to purchase a router specifically for Quest, utilizing the 6GHz band to improve performance. Regarding the issue, I have limited knowledge about routers since my ISP's model has been reliable for me. However, it only supports Wi-Fi 5 and lacks 6GHz capability, which is limiting. Since I live in a small apartment and the Quest is used directly with the router, range isn't a major concern. I've found one model on sale for around 60 € that seems to meet all requirements, but I'm concerned it might be too affordable. It's the "Acer Connect Vero W6M". Would you mind confirming if this router is suitable or recommending an alternative? Thanks!

The acer is in good shape overall, but for the price it offers, it falls short—only average at best versus other options. For a 60, it’s roughly the same as possible.

It seems likely the buyers are targeting a router with large antennas for better coverage, making it discounted. Probably similar to the Acer Predator W6, just missing 2.5 gigabits of WAN and lacking USB for network storage. The main differences are specs and price—predator costs more than double, but the VERO model doesn’t have RGB lighting. I might have misunderstood something about the Acer Vero W6 earlier.

Have you decided to purchase the Acer w6m? I’m thinking about it, but there don’t appear to be any reviews online.

Apologies for the delayed reply—yes, it functions excellently. Although the wired link to my quest remains superior, that’s to be expected. The router itself is outstanding considering its affordable price. Remember, it has only three LAN ports and no USB port.

I've been using a 2013 ASUS WiFi Router for some time with the Quest 2 Virtual Desktop. It has generally performed well, maintaining about 35ms latency in Beat Saber according to VD. For any Quest Airlink or VD configuration, the key is ensuring the access point/router handles only a couple of devices at once, since ISP routers usually prioritize many connections over consistent speed—this works fine for most home use where streaming is the main activity.
