I recently discussed my interest in upgrading to a new CPU for my old system, especially after the 12400f release. I’m confident it’s the best fit now. But I noticed there aren’t many affordable LGA 1700 boards available. Would anyone know of a budget-friendly option under $350?

You can find a great board for around $170, featuring three M.2 PCI-E NVMe slots, USB-C both internal and external, full lanes, strong VRM, etc. Generally, the choice depends on how many M.2 slots you need, whether Gen3x4 is acceptable, and your budget for extra ports and speeds. For example, a board with more than five USB ports and fast USB-C options can be found for $140, while higher-end models like the ASUS B660 run about $160. Steel Legend from Asrock is also showing promise, though VRM details remain unclear. MSI tends to be pricier but offers more features overall.
I’d hold off a while. The stock seems to be moving more gradually, likely causing the delay in launching the lower-end boards. Expect improvement soon, and most makers should have completed their product lines within the next few months. Also, you’ll likely find reviews from different sources confirming the board will deliver the power needed for the 12400F.

However, they aren't? The good B660 is available on Amazon, but it's been out there for two days already. Sadly, this has happened for about a year now—it no longer shows accurate details from Amazon quickly enough.
