It's not worth skimping on thermal paste. The difference between lower and higher price points can make a big impact on performance.

Get a reliable brand name. (The specific paste isn’t crucial as long as it’s decent.) (Thermal pastes usually range from 3 to 7°C depending on application and quality.) Also, it really depends on the temperature you’re dealing with—I’d say anything that isn’t bad will work just fine.

Maximum two degrees allowed, no concerns. If three pounds becomes a problem...

It's just about whether it will make a difference. If not, then why invest extra? Because you already have it, it doesn't mean you're wasting money!

The variation in names is minimal, usually just 1-2 letters between models like MX-4 and Arctic Silver 5. However, very inexpensive options can be poor quality, so choose wisely—only buy reputable brands if you're certain of the product. Since they often don’t specify a brand, it’s likely low-quality. Opt for higher-end products instead.
