Hi there. I've been seeing my CPU get quite hot during idle times, and the Extreme Tuning Utility from Intel is indicating EDP Limit Throttling. Here are my specs: The temperatures when idle (note it can spike up to 80°C sometimes): These numbers come from Intel's software. The throttling isn't always active—it comes and goes. Could someone help me with this issue? Thanks a lot!

In certain areas (not just Europe) it seems like hot days are becoming more common these days. If you're using an air conditioner and your setup keeps things cool, it's possible the temperatures have risen lately. Would you like to check if recent days were unusually warm?

The surrounding climate is definitely getting warmer. It’s also true that in my area there isn’t any effective air conditioning. I usually rely on fans and the occasional breeze, but would that really account for the EDP throttling issue?

Adjust power and current caps to 99999 in BIOS for maximum performance. Expected max temperature around 100°C, safe as long as you don’t exceed 1.35V overclock. Voltage spikes won’t cause instability at that heat, though idle temps are quite high but manageable.

Setting power and current limits higher can raise your temperatures and might lower your FPS, depending on your hardware and game settings.

Boosting power and current limits can make your CPU work harder, generating more heat and raising its temperature. Higher performance should lead to better FPS. Set IccMax to 511.75 for both cores and cache to potentially ease EDP throttling issues.
