Looking for a WiFi card suggestion for your desktop before the new router arrives. You mentioned you want something reliable in case your power adapter is sending a lot of signal.

I used an ASUS PCE-AC88. My aim was to achieve the speed I was paying for. The main issue was weak signal reception due to its location. I tried a common laptop adapter first, but it didn’t work under the table where the PC was placed. On top of the table, I managed a faint signal, so I opted to invest in the AC88. It delivers 235mbps, which is more than the 200mbps I paid for, so I’m satisfied.

What adapter model are you employing, and what speed does it provide? You might achieve better results by connecting through Wi-Fi.

You're seeing great results with the TP Link AX3000 PCIE Archer TX3000E. It supports Wi-Fi 6 and BT 5.0, making it versatile. With Fios 200 internet, you can easily reach speeds from 275 to 350 Mbps.

The Intel 9260 card paired with a PCI-E adapter works well. I have one like that on my laptop.

This information doesn't directly apply to finding a desktop Wi-Fi adapter. The intel 9260 chip is unrelated to the product you're seeking.

I acquired it from eBay for around $20 as a brand new OEM, swapping my stock Killer 1535. The PCI-E adapter for M.2 NGFF would cost about $12, making it a solid offer. You might also find it on Amazon.

Also noted that Intel released a Wi-Fi 6 series in the second quarter of 2019, making it possible to purchase an AX201 model for $17.

The TP-Link AV600 is a plug-and-play powerline adapter that expands your home network with reliable connections. You might be experiencing better speeds on WiFi because it leverages more available bandwidth compared to the limited powerline throughput you're seeing now.
