I recently set up Windows 8 on another machine and experienced around 150 updates, yet none included the reserve Windows 10 feature. Could there be an alternative reason or setting I missed?

I reinstalled Windows 8 and experienced a delay of two days before receiving the confirmation. Don’t stress—you have until July 2016 to resolve the issue.

I managed to get it on Windows 8.1 despite having updates disabled. Still not clear why.

Sure, I understand. It’s 8.1 - I’m being lazy. I know I have a year to finish, but since I’m moving a few computers along with it, it would be great if they’re all set up on the same system when I start and see how it turns out.

I’ve tried this approach and it worked well. It’s not just a guess—I’m referencing advice from a Microsoft Support Engineer, which adds credibility.
