I own a USB-C adapter converter for Mac (link provided) that works well for storage devices, mice, and keyboards. For charging your MacBook via the adapter or using it with a USB-C to HDMI cable, I’d look for a splitter that supports power delivery and possibly HDMI output.

You require a USB-C hub or dock. These devices lose effectiveness when your Mac only has a few USB-C/Thunderbolt connections.
