I’m looking for a repair service that can handle a full CMOS erase, a blank check, and a double write of the system’s BIOS file. I’m located in the middle of nowhere in Wyoming, and none of the shops I contacted—Rossman’s, the NY recommendation, or others—can handle mail-ins. I have an old Dell Alienware Alpha R2 with a graphics card, and after trying to fix it myself, it still won’t boot. I’ve spent time building my own machines, so I’m comfortable with this kind of work, but it’s been frustrating. I’m running out of options and need help getting it fixed before it ends up in the trash. If you have any leads or advice, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!

Have you explored Dell BIOS recovery options? I used it on my Latitude 5480 a few years back after a failed update, which restored it to working order. https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us...-or-tablet You might have replaced the CMOS battery—those Dell and Alienware models can struggle if the battery dies.

Yea, I've done the cmos battery, cpu, and wifi card after the bios rescue/flash failed tried the many different ways of "resetting" aka some form of hold the power button, had different outcomes but nothing that worked, unplugging and letting sit for hours seems to get me to lights on and a fan ramp, but no screen or beep, without power drain, i just get lights on I've been in and out of the guts a few times now and I can't even get to the alienware logo screen to get to the bios before I went the cmos battery I tried the bios via usb stick which led me to cmos battery replacement but both of those routs exhausted i googled and found that reddit post which seems to be where I'm at and that is just WAY BEYOND my capabilities and I figure any shop that can do that, also can do any electrical testing like power brick/power supply testing

Check your nearby Yellow Pages and choose a suitable option. What you need is simple, and all of them can handle it.

The drive to the nearest city is about 45 minutes, and I’ve reached out for help—the only local shop I found doesn’t offer that service, and all the remote support options are unavailable. Phone books aren’t accessible here, which makes things tough in Wyoming. It’s hard to imagine how many antelopes there are compared to people.

It's not really about throwing tech away just because it's hard to understand. As long as it works, it could be useful for things like building my own router or weather station. I have a bit of pride in keeping old electronics functional and helpful.

What processor was installed? Which Wi-Fi card is connected?
