These rules are completely unreasonable. Right now, a 970/980/290/290x setup works perfectly for ultra/very high settings. My system has a 2500k and a 290, it just functions okay. Remember, things will evolve and nothing is fixed at this point.

You need plenty of power—4790k works, but a 970 is better for high resolutions at 1080p.

Consider postponing your plans. When the game launches, existing hardware will likely be outdated. If you haven’t invested yet and you’re aiming for consistent Star Citizen play, proceed. But avoid designing anything solely for that title.
