I'm setting up Verizon's new 2Gig home internet in NYC and need advice on connecting all your ports. You mentioned needing at least 16 ports, but most listings seem to focus on 1Gigabit switches. Since I'm not very experienced with networking, any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Also, I plan to build a NAS later, so that detail is useful. Thanks!

The simple approach is to pair two TP link TL-SG108M2 switches. They don’t come with all features, but they support 2.5G ports that function adequately.

The Home Services team has checked out several network switches with dual 2.5G Ethernet ports. It seems it might be more cost-effective to purchase two switches—one providing 2.5G and the other offering 8 ports at 2.5G and 16-8 ports at 1G—depending on your budget.

I recently upgraded my home network to 2.5 GbE using a batch of Netgear switches. At some point, I realized the switches were placed in various rooms, so I might need to adjust their settings. They offer multiple configurations for multi-gig connections.
