It's going to give you a connection refused message and then say that it timed out.

Go to that website, but first check if your IP is on a blacklist so things don't get blocked. It's better to be safe than sorry. — Wolf sends

Maybe I'm doing things wrong with my router and firewall. The settings look correct, so why isn't everything working?

Whatever happens, we need to check if both TCP and UDP are enabled so it can listen properly. Which ports does Wolf use for VUZE? -Wolf sends back

I used 54973. If I want to connect over TCP or UDP, do we pick the same number for the port?

I'd say yes, and Wolf sent it back to me.

Got that error when testing a specific port. The system says it couldn't check the connection because either the port number is wrong or no one else is using it right now. It also tried to talk to a service, but nothing came back after waiting too long for a response.

Are you using port forwarding rules or a VPN program? Also, what anti-virus software do you have installed? I need to know exactly what's running on your machine. -Wolf sends

I don't use fancy network tricks like port forwarding. Just let traffic go through my router and firewall. I have McAfee antivirus installed, and yes, I have a virtual private network set up, but I turn that off right now while downloading music so nothing gets blocked or slowed down.

The problem might be from McAfee. Even though I usually don't suggest using it, you could try turning off your computer security just to see if you can get online. If you do connect (and pass those error messages), then turn McAfee back on and look for a way to add the site to your whitelist. -Wolf sends
