Looking for a replacement motherboard?
Hey there! Your Aorus B650 Pro AX is finally finished after just one year. I’m considering switching to an MSI B650 Tomahawk—any thoughts? The other parts you mentioned, like the 7900XTX and 7900X G, along with a 32GB DDR5 SKILL stick, sound solid. Let’s go!
The problems centered on the SOC voltage being excessively high, a common issue across all makers. Asus took the most proactive approach to address it. The fix came through BIOS updates. The tomahawk works well, but I’d likely consider ASRock’s options since they often offer great value for quality boards. The B650 LiveMixer is a solid example—typically around $150 for a highly feature-rich build.
They resolved the issue in a BIOS update. If you're not satisfied, there are definitely other choices available. This thread wasn't the source, but it was a good alternative. The gaming plus wifi board offers many similar features for roughly $30 less. MSI B650 GAMING PLUS WIFI ATX AM5 is also an option, and the B650 livemixer is affordable with plenty of USB ports.
The Live Mixer isn't particularly affordable there. Still, other ASRock options are worth considering. The B650 Lightning offers solid value for its price, and the B650M-HDV/M.2 provides one of the most budget-friendly B650 boards while maintaining good ratings if you don’t require many advanced features.
On PCPartPicker it shows $180. Unless you prefer purchasing it face-to-face. If that's your case, consider getting the Tomahawk; Livemixer would make sense (unless you need Wi-Fi), though the B650 Gaming Plus with Wi-Fi remains quite affordable here—about £20 less than the Tomahawk MSI B650 GAMING PLUS WIFI ATX AM5 Motherboard (B650 GAMING PLUS WIFI).
I'll give it a look, I still have time to cancel the order. only thing is I'm getting it from Amazon so choices are limited, thats why I don't look at PcPartPicker. I'll definitely take a look LiveMixer and few other models as I don't need a WiFi and I don't really do overclocking apart from XMP, even that doesn't yield a lot of performance. Mostly its gaming and recording as I recently decided to start a YouTube channel.
The B650 Tomahawk Livemixer costs approximately £200 in the UK (£243 on Amazon). Avoid purchasing it at such a low price. Instead, consider the AsRock B650 LiveMixer ATX AM5 Motherboard (B650 LiveMixer) from PCPartPicker.
