I've been checking Amazon for the past half-hour and noticed many reviews mention slow speeds, overheating issues, and unreliable connections. People often say it doesn't reach advertised speeds and gets hot unexpectedly. They usually don’t need high-bandwidth gear for basic tasks. If you want something stable, a wired connection might be better than relying on Wi-Fi.

@IkeaGnome The design seems solid from a functional standpoint, but I’m worried about potential cable strain leading to damage. Inside a laptop where most components are securely fixed, having the expansion card extend outward feels risky—like it could snap unexpectedly if tension is applied. I usually keep my laptop upright behind monitors, which helps prevent accidental stress on such rigid parts.

No, it's not Thunderbolt. It only works with a dock.

It supports Thunderbolt, but the rest (monitors, USB devices) are already connected properly. A decent laptop dock would be costly, and I don’t require all those features. Just adding Thunderbolt gives me everything I need.

I struggle to believe Wi-Fi would be slow enough for work unless you’re downloading large files often, which I’d correct. Press Win + I to launch the Settings app. Choose Network & internet from the sidebar. Tap on Properties at the top. Scroll down to the Link speed (Receive/Transmit) section to see the connection rate. What do you observe there? My guess is you’re hitting constraints of your organization’s network configuration.

I'm working from home, and the change was clear. The difference became obvious after installing my new webcam and downloading the Logitech software on both my personal PC and work laptop. It loaded quickly on my PC but took a few minutes on the laptop. I think my ISP router might be the issue—it works fine for YouTube on my phone, but not so well for work tasks. It doesn’t really bother me much, but it does slow things down when I need to pull Docker images.

I've experienced success with B2B128tt, owning three units. A type-C adapter would be necessary. I can't comment on newer versions as I don't own them.

The VPN setup seemed sensitive, especially with my limited 1gbps speed routing through my former workplace's connection.
