Hi, I need to compare two REG files from different PCs. There are too many entries for a text editor, and I want a tool that opens the REG file as a folder view similar to regular regedit. I don’t have anything suitable found, except a "regedit clone" or text editors like Notepad++ and WinMerge that show text files. I’m looking for something usable, preferably portable. Thank you.

You're welcome on the solutions you've tried. For visually organizing REG files like in regedit, you can refer to the link provided: https://4sysops.com/archives/regedit-as-...ry-editor/. It may not be the most practical option, but it works for your purpose.

Powershell offers various methods to perform comparisons and display results. You can explore resources such as the Microsoft devblogs article and the Learn Inside guide for detailed instructions. Python is another option, with similar tutorials available on the same site. Always test changes in a safe environment before applying them, and consider finding existing scripts that match your needs or adapting them as required.

I believe you have to forget about the tree structure for comparison.
For text comparison of to text files, I'd recommend Winmerge - I put a link to the portableapp package of that software (just unpack to a folder then make a link to desktop, no need to install)
