Hi!
I'm searching for a laptop that can act as a replacement for my desktop when I'm traveling or on the go.
I have quite specific requirements:
- Screen size between 14-16 inches with good color accuracy and brightness for photo/video editing
- Minimum 32GB of RAM
- Two slots for an M.2 SSD
- High TDP GPU (at least 150W)
- LAN port, Bluetooth, and HDMI 2.1
- A solid build quality
Budget is around $3000.
I've checked the web and found a model that matches most of these points:
https://www.acer.com/us-en/predator/lapt....QNZAA.001
Since I'm new to gaming laptops, any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Best regards

Unless you require portability, a desktop offers better value for your budget.
I notice numerous complaints about gaming laptops struggling to perform.
Typically, performance drops when the laptop is connected to power.
A frequent issue is thermal throttling.
Laptop coolers are often small and lightweight by necessity.
They are also generally less powerful.

Thank you for your reply!
I understand the situation. I already own a desktop with a powerful setup—7800x3d, 7900xtx, and 32GB RAM—that I rely on for gaming and work at home.
Sometimes I’m away and need a reliable laptop to complement it. My main tasks are in Photoshop and Premiere, and I occasionally play games at hotels. I also want to share it with friends for LAN sessions.
Because I use it frequently, I’m looking for a high-end laptop rather than something cheap.
I know laptops can get hot and noisy, but as long as I can maintain 60 FPS+, I’m fine.
My goal is to get a great screen and solid hardware that can handle all my needs.

Gigabyte Aero series offers a creative experience with a high colour gamut 4K OLED display (“Pantone certified” 100% AdobeRGB) and sufficient GPU power for video editing tasks. Be mindful that these laptops feature robust power supplies, which limits portability. They support USB-C PD 100W in gimp mode for charging. The screens typically operate in 8-bit colour, making precise calibration more challenging (such as less accurate brightness adjustments), and they don’t match the performance of a dedicated 10-bit external monitor.

Thanks a lot for your ideas! I found some options that look like solid choices in terms of value compared to other brands.
