Since I quit playing WoW, I've found it hard to locate a solid game to invest my time in. I enjoy RPGs where I can upgrade characters, gather better equipment, and then apply that gear in solo PvP scenarios—especially ranked play would be great. I'm looking for a recent title, as WoW had all those features before. I mostly played arenas and rated battlefields, but stopped because of time commitments and team-based limitations. Sometimes I couldn't join scheduled online sessions with friends, which made me switch to Diablo 3. While the gear farming was solid, there wasn't a meaningful PvP endgame to use it in. I've started playing MOBAs like HotS, which offer on-demand solo PvP but lack progression or grinding for stats. The Division seemed promising at first, but issues with the dark zone and minimal endgame PVP left me doubtful. I prefer games that let me play anytime without relying on fixed schedules or team coordination. If you're considering other PC RPGs with similar mechanics, think about titles that emphasize character progression, customization, and flexible online experiences.

Rift once offered solid PvP but hasn’t been played much since launch. Recently I’ve been focusing on the division and it’s not great, though you should know it’s only a week in. I’m mostly high-end focused now and just need a few things ready for the inc raids. I used to play WoW for 7-8 years, quit a few times, and tried to find a similar game—turns out WOW is amazing but its quality has dropped a lot. I haven’t played competitive WoD for over a year now.

I haven't tried any of them yet (just wanted to say). The Final Fantasy lineup is supposed to be great. Maybe give FF XIV a shot with the free trial? Of course, this might not be perfect—just ignore me if you don’t like it 😄

Previously, my experience with GW2’s PvP was lively but a bit generic for my preferences. World vs World offers competitive multiplayer with clear goals, though it’s not the kind of MMO PvP I enjoy. You might want to explore a free-to-play version if available—here are some account guidelines: http://help.guildwars2.com/entries/95982...1436571105 F2P mainly limits chat and mail, making it harder for gold farmers or sellers to operate freely. You can start with a character right away and jump into PvP without worrying about leveling up in combat. Restrictions apply only to PvE, where everyone reaches level 80 instantly. You’re allowed two characters at no cost, and you can level them both to 80 by grinding dungeons or completing PvE content. There’s no need to pay extra unless you want cosmetic perks. If you like the game, just purchase Heart of Thorns—upgrades your account automatically—or buy it in person and enter a code. Otherwise, playing as a free PvP member is completely fine. I’m looking forward to any upcoming discounts since my guild has moved on to other games. Feel free to ask for clarification, and the Guild Wars 2 wiki has helpful info: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Player_versus_Player
