Started looking at options for a replacement motherboard. Need something compatible with the existing setup but not too complex to build. The current board is an MSI A75A-G55 Socket with DDR3 32GB, USB3.0, SATA3, and HDCP ready. It runs the CrossFireX graphics card. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The motherboard must align with the CPU you wish to install. You can't simply choose any board; compatibility is essential. For FM1 boards, finding a matching one is challenging, especially second-hand options. It's less about giving advice and more about what's available. You might also consider a fresh motherboard paired with a new CPU, but keep in mind you'll need different RAM types—DDR3 versus DDR4. Fortunately, PCIe interfaces remain consistent across most boards, though some newer models use updated standards. This compatibility means your graphics card, like the 7870, works with any standard board regardless of age. I suggest either searching for a used unit or opting for a new setup, though it usually costs more than just a compatible board.
