So here is my problem, I have an i9 12900k cpu x3 M.2 SSD's a GPU (x16) A Capture card (x4) I have the problem which I require to upgrade the motherboard to have the GPU be able to use its PCIE x16 lanes While allowing the Capture card to use its x8 lanes without causing issue from to or from the x3 M.2 My current mobo which is running an i7 11700 has that limitation if I wanna use my Capture card at the moment It down my gpu pcie to x8 As the lane it use to connect to is disabled due to the M.2 requiring to disable that lane, So In short I need assistance with ensuring all components listed above can be used without issue or limitations from on another. And if able to brownie points for someone that can find a mono that can do the above but x2 GPU's instead. I would search around but I honestly dunno what I would be looking for or reading for in regards to this problem, Thank you in advance Big Grin

Many options are available to achieve your goals. The first two that come to mind are the Z690 Unify (X) and Z690 Carbon from MSI, though other choices also exist that can handle everything you need.

Review the schematic diagrams for each motherboard. Gigabyte provides clear documentation of the PCIe configuration. Z690 Aorus master is recommended for 12th or 13th generation systems.

You'd notice the slot transitioning from x16 to a lower number when an addition is made to that PCIe lane.

The primary X16 lane is evident since it connects straight to the CPU without any switches. This means it remains consistent regardless of other devices in different slots. For example, with the Z790 Aorus Master, using the M.2 Gen 5 slot introduces switches that reduce the PCIe GPU lane to X8. This highlights why the 690 board outperforms the 790 in this scenario.

Yes, a connection indicated in the diagram through a switch will reflect the reduction in performance or usage for that lane.

It's tough to grasp from the chart but the phrase "or" appears between those choices.
