Only B450 and X470 boards require an update, while B550 and X570 models are already up to date.

Yes, but not really. The ds3h is a small board and pairing it with a 5950x isn't ideal. You should choose a better one; a poor choice might damage the CPU. No. If the board wasn't updated with a different BIOS after the 5000 release, it will require an update. Expect it to need one.

Yes, that motherboard is also compatible, and it's confirmed on their official site. However, for the CPU, the second board might not be ideal since it requires strong VRM cooling. The AORUS model should work as long as you don’t overclock. You may need a better option if you want performance gains. Also, I made a mistake—I thought the BIOS was different from what I assumed.

You're wondering why you need a motherboard that's compatible with the 5000 series. It seems straightforward, as I've handled it before without any issues.

Consider fitting a Ryzen 9 3900X without any BIOS changes. Look for the highest compatible CPU model without overclocking.

Choose a solid board capable of handling a BIOS update independently of the CPU. Keep the board's memory usage under 3600 units. For a more affordable option targeting a 5950x, consider a B550-F gaming board.
