Hi everyone.
I'm trying to share my thoughts in English, which isn't my first language, and I want to make sure I do it well.
I have a friend with a Dell XPS 15 9560 that has an Intel i7-7700HQ processor and an FHD display.
Can I purchase something similar today but cheaper than €500? Not the same CPU, just something comparable but newer.
I really hope I can do this properly so you don't waste too much time helping me.
Blessings all.

Location wasn't specified. The intended payment method for the laptop purchase should be clarified. The request for a similar performance level as an i7-7700HQ is necessary for this purchase.

Here are some suggestions for a more polished version of your message:

- I am writing to kindly request your assistance.
- I currently reside in Portugal, and the new laptop would be suitable because I own a second-hand Dell XPS 15 9560 for 500€. I am interested in finding an equivalent but newer model at a similar price.
- Thank you very much for your time and patience. I am available to provide further details if necessary.

I currently interact with several applications. Please note that the list may vary depending on your device settings and the time.

Web browsing, multimedia, streaming—I think it’s about spending a bit more now. This way I won’t have to change again so soon, because in theory this laptop is a better build. If I can’t use it anymore, I’ll pass it on to someone in the family. Hope this helps.

I don't believe you should buy another laptop unless you can increase its RAM. If it wasn't originally equipped with an SSD, consider adding one to give it more functionality.

Sorry Lutfij, perhaps I miscommunicated or misunderstood you. At the moment I don’t have a laptop, so I can consider either an SSD or more RAM. I noticed a Dell XPS 15 9560 in good condition, almost new, for 400€. Since I was looking for a laptop, I thought it was a good offer, and I hope I can convey this clearly so you don’t waste your time.

You might consider examining this unit;
https://www.onbit.pt/portateis/port...-i...1-pro.html
but it doesn't fit within your budget of 400 euros.

Thanks a lot for your helpful response, I’d appreciate a bit more patience from you and understand if you can wait a little longer.
The Dell XPS CPU I saw seems about 25% weaker than the one in your laptop post, but it does have the potential to expand to 64GB RAM if needed. The current model only supports 32GB due to limited slots, and the display brightness is higher with more nits. It’s all for a fraction of the cost.
I don’t have a guarantee, but the CPU here appears to be better, and the GPU in this Dell model is 1050 4GB with an onboard iris.
I’d say I’m considering a better deal with the used Dell, but I don’t want to be rude and ignore your advice.

Putting money into older technology means missing out on support. You really don't need more than 16GB of memory if you're planning to handle any tasks beyond gaming and video production (and streaming while gaming).
Why are you worried about the GPU? Are you also interested in gaming?
You're free to invest whatever you want, because it's your own money. What we usually try to avoid is suggesting something that isn't needed.
