I heard there was already an anniversary edition released in 2011 for the Xbox360, but recently there have been rumors about a PC version. Did anyone know if that’s true? Is there a remake of Halo 1 coming for PC soon? If so, when would it be available? I really enjoyed playing Halo 1—my friends and I played it nonstop sometimes, especially the multiplayer mode was great.

Likely because MS isn’t really interested in PC gaming anymore.

Hey there! What’s got you upset? I’m super into Halo 1 with the new visuals.

Well ms is saying they want to do more for PC gaming and they unrelieved the halo remakes for the new consoles so we can only hope that they realise how much money putting it on PC would make but we can only hope as ms seem to have no idea

I would too. The gameplay was great, and the music very memorable. I remember how intense it was trying to play through on legendary. Never did finish it on legendary. However I felt that after a certain point the game lost it's quality. The level design became bad, and they were just copying and pasting the same rooms and throwing hordes of flood at you.

I don’t want to bring up those old times, but I remember the flood really unsettled me back then. Perhaps it’s because the background music added such a strong mood to the experience.

Assign blame to MS for prioritizing console launches and massive sales over PCs!

The situation is quite counterintuitive. Their own platform—Windows—is being used against them. They don’t want to back their operating system. While many third-party developers do this, they see Windows (PC) as a rival to Xbox. Releasing Halo on PC would likely boost sales significantly. Yet they prefer to keep Halo exclusive, using it as a marketing push to drive console sales, hoping that will increase overall revenue from other developers. If Microsoft had introduced Steam instead of Valve, the landscape would have been different. A direct monetization approach for PC games would have made things easier.
