I am getting a new processor soon and I want to make sure it gets overclocked. My goal is 4.6ghz but I am not sure what cooler to buy. Will the Deepcool Gammaxx GT A-RGB CPU Cooler be good enough for it? My power supply is the corsair cx650m, which should work fine. My motherboard is the Asrock B75M-DGS.

If you want a good choice, the standard Hyper 212 Evo is the way to go. It lets you reach at least 4.5GHz while staying cool and doesn't burn your hands from the cooling pads.

This CPU cooler works fine for me. But my 3770k probably won't hit top speed on its own without help, because the new chips aren't as easy to push harder than the old ones were.

The B75 chip set means you can't overclock it, and honestly, there were only a couple of boards back then where people actually got the deal. I think Intel stopped giving them out after that, probably because they realized letting non-K processors go overclocked wasn't safe or fair for everyone. It's been years since all those cards came out.

Even if my computer is set up to run at its stock speed, I can still try using Intel XTU to see if it works on that machine.

Look, it's a rip. I suppose I'll just have to deal with the turbo boost.
