While installing my aces tough motherboard, I noticed these components were already connected. On the Intel board I removed them, but it didn’t matter which ones or which side I used. After checking the manual, it seemed they weren’t specified.

Insert the 8-pin unit, it's required. The second 4-pin can be omitted. Note: The right side's 8-pin must be completely filled with the 8-pin EPS.

They were plugged in incorrectly. Both should be moved to the 8-pin connector, while the remaining four-pin should stay disconnected. This is confusing since the manual only shows one four-pin, but you're trying to adapt it with what you have.

The left side has four pins, which isn't required but the right one is essential. The eight-pin version is called 4+4 and can be merged into an eight-pin setup for your needs or divided if you only have a single four-pin board. The images you shared are accurate now.

8 pin CPU provides power for 8 cores; 12+ pin setup supports up to 12 cores.

Great thanks! 😊 Now I'm working through it, but I'm still figuring it out.

Upgrading to 12 cores with 3900x requires an additional 4-pin connector.

You're asking about the specific component you need assistance with. The two LEDs are the key ones regarding polarity. The triangle on the front panel wire indicates the positive connection. The speaker is optional and likely included in the case, though I can't recall its exact placement.

Only when you intend for major performance boosts should consider using LN2 or top-tier water cooling. It may improve stability occasionally, though it's usually unnecessary.

I use water cooling without pushing it to overclocking levels.
