I need a good program that can turn sound into text. I might be talking about an online site or service, which seems okay. Maybe you could share your own idea or experience? There are 20+ tools out there, and they all cost money. Testing each one takes around 15 minutes. That's fine with the price, but checking so many options is tough. I have audio files (wave) and want to get text versions of them.

Have you tried the built-in dictation feature in Windows? You can play a recording file and connect a mic to pick it up easily. Check out this link for more info: https://support.microsoft.com/en-au...-y...033fa5689f Also, your phone probably has this too. Google's Alexa and other smart devices work well with voice commands.

How accurate do I get? What are my goals? Back when I had a decade of experience turning voice into text, things were pretty good... but honestly? I never actually used WAV files for converting to text. At that time, accuracy was decent, yet if you needed 100 percent precision, it always took way too much editing work. You're also going to be stuck by your computer's speed, how clean the original file sounds like, and how strict the requirements are on accuracy.

It might be slow, but my computer works fine for this job. Accuracy is more important than speed because I need to take my time checking things carefully.

Have you tried using the built-in dictation feature in Windows? You can record a voice note into it and then use that audio file to set up a microphone. Visit this link for more info: https://support.microsoft.com/en-au...-y...033fa5689f Your phone might also work just fine if you have Google Assistant or similar apps, which are really good at understanding voices.
