I've noticed others using PC programs to make music, including my friend. I'm interested in trying it out for fun. That's why I'm searching for free software to experiment with when I have no other plans. Thank you!

Recording and editing tools available. For a simple interface, consider this alternative: http://www.native-instruments.com/en/pro...downloads/

Audacity is quite enjoyable. It has a restriction on how many sounds you can combine at once. You can save and re-upload everything as a single soundtrack, which might take some time to get used to. However, it’s definitely worth the effort.

Can't reference 'Reaper' since I haven't tried it. However, based on the other DAWs discussed, starting with Ableton seems more straightforward and user-friendly in my view. Every DAW requires some time to become comfortable and fully functional.

I’m searching for a simple activity to enjoy, not a serious one.

I need a Digital Audio Workstation and several free or open-source choices. Wikipedia provides solid details and a useful list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_au...e_software. You might also explore the Reddit communities for recommendations: http://www.reddit.com/r/wearethemusicmakers, http://www.reddit.com/r/edmproduction, and others listed in their discussions about free music software.

It's much easier than working with FL Studio or Cubase.
