I'm searching for CPU fans for the Arctic Freezer 34. I recently purchased one about a month ago but haven't received it yet, so I got a refund. I'm considering alternatives within a $70 budget. The fan should handle OC temperatures and work well with my current setup. Other options would be appreciated, especially since shipping costs can add up to $30. Thanks in advance for your help!
With the i5 8400 you'd probably want the Vetroo V5. It's a budget-friendly option that still performs well. I previously used it with my i5 9600K and it delivered great results. It also provided solid overclocking potential, keeping all-core temperatures under 70°C even at 4.8GHz.
Take a look at the scythe fuma 2 or some thermal gear. Also check out items from noctua and keep it simple! Nothing wrong with this advice—just not for thermaltake or high-end thermal stuff. If you're looking to splurge, an Arctic air conditioner is perfect but might be out of your budget.
I own a Fuma 2 and I'm extremely satisfied with it for $60—it's also quite silent.

I believe either option would suit you well. The Vetroo V5 stands out more visually compared to the bare metal Arctic 34. You can pick either black or white to match your setup, and it supports RGB lighting. If appearance matters, the V5 is the better pick. My only concern was noise when running the fan at full speed; I managed by limiting the ramp-up to 80°C. The five heat pipes work efficiently, so the fan doesn’t need to spin too hard. As long as your motherboard has a 4-pin PWM header, it should function properly. If you’re still undecided, Hardware Canucks recently reviewed several budget coolers, including both models, with the Arctic 34 performing slightly better overall.
