Looking for a CPU compatible with a 6750xt for 1440p gaming
I've noticed various suggestions about the 5600x, some mention possible limitations, and others suggest the 12400f or 12600k pair well with the 6750xt. There are better options available, which has left me a bit uncertain.
I don’t have a motherboard yet, so I’m open to choosing either AMD or Intel. I’m looking for a budget-friendly CPU that lets me enjoy my 6750xt at 1440p and also handle some productivity tasks.
Additionally, I heard the Ryzen 7600 might fit with the 6750xt, but it’s unclear due to higher costs for AM5 and DDR5. Your thoughts would be appreciated.
(The 5800X3D isn’t within my budget.)
Intel would be out of the picture after what's emerging. You mention the budget, but didn't specify your limits—high or low. Where are you based, and which store do you favor for buying? If you can afford it... I'd opt for a B650 chipset board plus a DDR5-6000MHz AMD E.X.P.O dual channel RAM kit with a Ryzen 7600, and that would be enough.
I only use amazon.com and need something near a 5600x ($120-$160). The Ryzen 7600 and DDR5 are expensive but could work for the 6750xt if it's the best choice. Are there any AM4 options? Would the 5600 or 5700 be sufficient? I'm mainly concerned about potential bottlenecks.
