Looking for a budget-friendly offline title.
I recently purchased a new laptop featuring an i5 8250 processor, Iris 620 chipset, and 8 GB of RAM. It’s not designed for heavy gaming. Are there any recommendations within the tech community for games that don’t require internet access and can run smoothly on this machine? I’m looking for something engaging with a solid story that I can enjoy for extended periods. Also, my storage is limited—only 250 GB available, with just 160 GB left for schoolwork. Can I install games onto an external hard drive? Would that cause any performance problems due to loading times? Thanks in advance!
I could save emulators and try old-school Pokémon, classic PS1/PS2 titles, or games like Kingdom Hearts 2 and Crash Bandicoot. If none of those catch my eye, I might play Darkest Dungeon on my laptop—it runs slower than usual, around 30 frames, but it’s a turn-based game so real combat isn’t the point.
A solid choice is an emulator that matches your system, and you should check its file size requirements.
I don't have personal preferences, but I can suggest popular options based on your needs. What kind of game are you looking for?
Pokémon and Zelda... I'm not sure about it yet. The last time I played those classic games was three years back.
