I recently swapped out my motherboards and now have a corsair vengeance 32gb stick with ddr5 at 6000 mhz. When I turn on my computer, it says code 55 even though I have two sticks of ram. But if I remove one stick, it boots up fine. I checked my cpu cooler, which is a corsair h150 elite capillary, and everything looks okay. I tried other ram sticks and they all showed the same error code 55. I also swapped out my board and even changed the cooler, but it stayed the same with code 55. Could it be my cpu? This was when I upgraded from a 12900k to a 14700k. Any ideas?

Did you update the BIOS to a newer version? If that fixes anything, try turning XMP on. But first reset your BIOS and make sure XMP is OFF. Then test for memory errors with MemTest. Also check if the CPU socket pins look bent or dirty when you power it on.

I have found that it can be hard to see when there is only one clamp on the right side. Sometimes you need to look very carefully to make sure the dimmer is actually fully stuck into place on the left side of the socket. With my new build, I had to use a lot of extra pressure to get the dimmer all the way down on the right side so that the clamp engages properly. So I'm telling everyone to bring in a bright light and really look closely at how the dimmer is sitting there so you don't end up with code 55 issues.

Why would my computer refuse to turn on? I tried removing my RAM sticks, putting them back in a few times, but nothing works. I'm worried about accidentally forcing the stick in again when it's supposed to sit there safely.

I simply plugged the memory into a1 plus a2, and it turned on, but then it wouldn't stay running.

Can you get into the BIOS? If not, use your motherboard's flash feature. Unplug the CPU and RAM (maybe not always needed), just keep the power supply and motherboard plus the BIOS file on a USB stick. Press that button when it restarts, turn off the power, then put back the CPU and RAM to finish.

14700K probably needs a newer BIOS to run right. Check if you can get into it with just one stick. See what BIOS upgrades are there and fix them up. If you change your board, you'll definitely need new drivers to work.

I can turn into the BIOS, but it was not new so I refreshed it and now it does not work when I insert two sticks of RAM in the slots. I'm going to take out the CPU and check for bent pins, though I tried the ASUS Z790 MAXIMUM HERO EV-A-02 edition and it did exactly the same thing. I checked the website for memory compatibility and it shows my memory and another memory that I have. So the memory is compatible. I updated the BIOS to the latest version and still getting error code 55. I'm going to change the processor from a Intel Core i9-12900K to an Intel Core i9-14700K

have you tried running B2 A2 slots on your RAM, or have you done memtest already?

I had two A2 and B2 slots, then I got an error code 55. I looked on the website about memory. When I moved to the A1 and A2 slots, it started working. I never ran the memtest.
