Construct a computer and place it in your office. Purchase a streaming link so you can enjoy your games in the living room whenever you like. There’s no need to buy an Xbox. From now on, all Xbox titles will be available for PC.

I might be mistaken about this, but I think only Play Anywhere titles will reach PC through the Xbox store on Windows 10. Right now there are just 15 games, and 11 more are coming soon (check the current list here: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/xbox-play-anywhere). Some games that aren’t exclusive to Xbox but are only for consoles won’t be available on PC either—such as Red Dead Redemption 2 and Kingdom Hearts 3.

It feels like most of what I truly need is a fresh Xbox... light gaming to enhance my MacBook Pro. The only missing piece is Star Citizen, which is exclusively for PC (and I get why). Running it on a new $2k+ or $3k+ machine would be a significant investment just for that game. I plan to hold off until next year when it launches (hopefully), and then check the latest hardware and prices. It seems like this kind of game can easily keep you engaged for hours.

I believe they're focusing on moving away from physical media across all devices. On PCs, digital distribution is now the norm, making optical discs less essential. For me, the choice is clear: a PC gives full control over gameplay—frame rate, visuals, and input device—without needing a $3500 machine.

The main focus is tuning for a single very particular system. These machines can handle the games they support without any adjustment options, unlike their PC versions. If Microsoft did this, a low-end office computer could run those games just fine. This would avoid the frustration of needing to tweak settings and would stop people from calling tech support with complaints about compatibility.

They avoid selling used games from places like Gamestop, eBay, Amazon, etc., because it doesn’t benefit them financially.
