I just received a new modem from my ISP for a gigabit connection, but after trying support and searching online, it looks like my updated setup can't connect to geust networks. I'm trying to find an affordable router that only needs to create a guest network—something decent enough for hosting Thanksgiving for the whole family. I don’t need the absolute fastest model or dual-band support; 802.11n should be fine. Any suggestions or tips to make sure it works for guest networks?

Consider adding an older router to serve as an access point for visitors, or purchase a budget-friendly model.

Issue is that a standard router usually doesn't allow guest separation unless you install OpenWRT or DD-WRT.

You might purchase an inexpensive model and assign it a VLAN. The TP-Link N300 supports guest network configuration.
