Hello everyone, I'm facing problems with my PC's startup speed. My post will be delayed due to these issues. Below are the timestamps: 20 seconds from black screen until ASUS Post. 34 seconds on the ASUS loading screen, 47 seconds to log in to Windows 11. Here are my details: I9-12900K, ASUS ROG Strix Z690-A RTX 3080, 10G EVGA FTW3, G.Skill Trident Z64GB, 4000MHz, 18-22-22-42 EVGA 1000W G5 Gold PSU, ARCTIC Liquid Freezer I, A-RGB Samsung 980 Pro, 1TB PCIe 4.0, Seagate 6TB 7200 RPM HDD, generic 2TB 5400 RPM HDD, monitors: two LG 32 Ultra IPS QHD nano 1ms, 165Hz HDR. Is this boot time typical or should it be quicker? TIA

Asus boards may take some time to post during memory training. Usually this happens mostly at cold post and not restarts though. You also could be waiting on that 5400 drive to spin up and access times are probably not great. Maybe try with the HDDs unplugged if they aren't the boot drive to determine if they make windows post sluggish.

I'm also running on the 12th generation (with a Gigabyte board) and my boot times are still quite long. On the quicker side, it takes about 10 seconds to see the Aorus logo, another 7 seconds before it disappears, then 20 to 30 seconds to reach the Windows 11 lock screen, plus another 28 seconds just to log in through startup programs (the spoiler). Things can get even slower if I disable fast startup. Shutting down takes around 40 seconds, and that gets worse when fast startup is off. Overall, it feels frustratingly slow compared to my Acer laptop with an 8750H, which still outperforms mine in almost every area.

You experienced delays and lag after installing a 1TB M.2 drive, but the system started immediately afterward.

The boot time remains consistent across the entire drive setup.

Consider turning on fast boot in your BIOS/UEFI settings. It may not be ideal, but it could assist you.
