I've been checking updates about modifying the Windows boot logo on Linux Tech Tips. I'm trying to create my own custom logo by placing images into bootres.dll, but I'm stuck at step 32. When I try to add the command, it pauses after about an hour and then restarts with the same screen. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Stay safe!

Back on Windows 7 I tried the Windows 7 boot updater program. I'm not sure if it will work with Windows 10, but you can give it a try. It's free.

The video follows the same process at the point you mentioned. You're missing the security prompt, possibly due to Windows settings.

I modified the boot logo multiple times, but it always returns to the default version after each major release, making it unnecessary.

From what I've tried so far, it seems Microsoft either moved the bootres DLL during Windows loading or removed it after version 1607. I've been checking what works in my free time, but my current method only reaches up to Windows 10 Anniversary.

I utilize HackBGRT on Windows 10. Even though it sometimes returns to the original OEM version, I just restart it and it works again.
