Logitech M705 continues to click loudly even after silent mode is enabled.
Hello everyone!
I'm using a Logitech M705 Marathon mouse. The clicking noise was really bothersome, so I swapped the default Omron switches for Kailh silent ones. Tested them after soldering – they functioned fine, staying quiet as expected. When I reassembled the mouse, everything worked perfectly, though the LMB still makes a loud click. This occurs only when I press on the outer edge of the button, while pressing near the body remains silent. The mouse clicks are still recognized properly.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue?
PS. Apologies for any language errors – English isn't my first language.
Examine the mouse more closely, especially the reassembly. Could the click come from the switch itself or from some plastic and mechanical contact between the button and the body? From your description, it seems the button or case might not be aligned properly. The difference between a distant part and something close to the body could cause the physical contact and the resulting click. Or maybe the switch is being pushed slightly out of place so it clicks.
