Logitech M510 mouse moves unpredictably and becomes unresponsive
My Logitech M510 wireless mouse with Unifying Software jumps and freezes more than a real mouse being tracked by a hungry cat. I also have a Logitech MK320 (mn 820-008582) which works fine. I relocated the dongle from directly on the pc to the end of a 3 foot long USB extension cord in an effort to increase its distance from the pc and the TCL TV/monitor. Also, I replaced the batteries. The PC runs Windows 10 with 16GB RAM and an Athlon 5400+ CPU at 2.8 GHz (slightly O/C).
I've tested the mouse on various surfaces—matte black lapdesk, couch arm, cardboard, and other room items. None affect performance. When it functions, the cursor moves much quicker than simply moving the mouse itself. Any suggestions or possible resolutions?

I'm going to attempt a different unifying dongle. Just discovered one.
