Hi, I'm thinking about purchasing an MX Master 3S instead of my current G502 X. The click sound on the G502 X is really loud and unpleasant... it seems like you're getting what you pay for. My main worry is whether the MX Master 3S will be suitable for gaming. I mostly play non-competitive single-player FPS games such as Resident Evil 2 remake, Alan Wake series, Quantum Break, etc. According to rtings.com, the G502 X scores 7.4 while the 3S scores 8.7 in FPS games. Would I be satisfied with the MX Master 3S for occasional FPS? Are there other mouse models that could match these two?

Thanks!

whenever someone seeks new peripherals, i suggest they try to explore as many options as possible themselves.
check out shops such as best buy, micro center, local computer stores, or even walmart and office depot, and see what’s available.
trying out various models with different setups can provide a clearer picture of what you truly need for your own satisfaction.

JohnBonhamsGhost will appreciate your feedback. Would a 7.4 rating for FPS games be enough for you?

For HID devices, a rating from certain websites is not very meaningful.
They might provide details such as battery life or resolution. However, the actual feel in your hand remains something only you can experience directly.

That's why I always look at nearby shops to see if they stock items like mice. I was concerned my local Best Buy might no longer have them in stock after many stores stopped displaying them during the pandemic. It turned out they had a good selection, which made it easier for me to choose a model with a more grippy panel on the thumb button side. Best Buy is also very competitive in price and will match prices with places like Amazon and B&H Photo.
