Hey everyone, I'm facing an issue with my webcam. It doesn't recognize it in the Windows Hello login area. I'm using Windows 11 version 22000.708.0, and FTPM is enabled by default. My motherboard can't disable FTPM or DTPM, so I'm only able to install a TPM chip. I'm worried about clearing the TPM since it might have caused problems with my game Genshin Impact—last time I cleared it, I got a blue screen and couldn't log in again, forcing me back to a backup setup. I also tried different Logitech programs on various software versions and firmware updates for the Brio 4K webcam, but it works fine on Windows 10. It seems like the issue isn't with the camera itself, but possibly related to the TPM configuration. The new TPM chip I ordered might help, but I'm not sure if it will resolve this.

I purchased a dTPM module, but it didn’t resolve the issue. It functions with both TPMs, yet it doesn’t work on Windows 11 while it does on Windows 10.

I’ve got some news about this issue. My Windows 10 laptop stopped working because the battery was faulty. I removed it and attempted to install Windows 11, hoping to see if upgrading would work. Since my sister’s system also had problems with Windows Hello Face Unlock on her Windows 11 machine, I wondered what the similarities and differences were. The main change was that Windows 11 uses TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot, unlike my old Windows 10 which didn’t have those features.

I tried to install Windows 11 on my older laptop without requiring TPM or Secure Boot, and it worked fine—especially with the Logitech Brio webcam. I kept searching online for solutions to install Windows 11 on unsupported devices, but eventually found a CMD script from GitHub that bypassed TPM checks. It helped me reinstall Windows 11 without those restrictions.

After some troubleshooting, I managed to get the Logitech Brio to unlock with Windows Hello Face Unlock. Now I’m trying to download the Windows 11 ISO and use the upgrade assistant on my Windows 11 PC. I attempted to repair the installation by deleting updates while keeping my apps, but it failed with error code 0x800F0955.

I checked the build numbers and realized that even without TPM or Secure Boot, the system was functioning properly. The Logitech Brio worked during setup, and the issue seemed resolved. Still, I’m concerned about potential problems with direct storage or games that need TPM enabled in the future. Overall, it seems the workaround I found actually solved the problem.
