Check if you can boost the I7 4790 without using a K model, using a Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD3H board and BIOS tweaks, or adjusting the power supply.

You can adjust the bclk, but that's all I can do, unfortunately.

The Master Hyper 212 Evo is designed with adequate cooling capabilities, but ensure it meets your specific workload requirements.

All core turbo reaches 3.8, it's unclear what you meant by that, but the 4790 boosts to 3.8 across all cores. Single performance is 4GHz, and XTU might relate to that.

That would be an overclock, so no. With a locked chip like on a Z-series board, you can only adjust the BCLK. Yep, OP mentioned that. ^. Edited August 2, 2020 by TofuHaroto

You mentioned using Ivy Bridge to boost the multiplier slightly, even with non-K chips. I recall it might have worked for Haswell as well, though I’m not sure about Devil’s Canyon. Do you have a Z87 or Z97 board on hand?
