Locate the BIOS chip for replacement
Recently during my update of the ASRock B450M Pro 4 motherboard, I broke it. It keeps looping and won’t power on, and it doesn’t display video either. I’m attempting to fix it by programming and swapping the BIOS chip, but I’m unsure how to locate a compatible one. I took a photo of it, which appears to be the WINBOND 25Q128FWSQ model. I’ve already shared it with someone who doesn’t repair it, so maybe it’s not the genuine part. Should I purchase another version of this model? Where can I verify if it’s the original? This is the official page for the motherboard on ASRock > B450M Pro4.
Hi. You can source a bios chip from BiosDepot on Ebay. They can flash whatever bios you want and ship the chip out to you. Then you have to solder it onto the board because they aren't socketed any more. Heres a link. https://www.ebay.com/str/biosdepot
You can find a video featuring a programmer from your region. After that, you can update the BIOS chip on the device.
Sure, I’ll proceed with soldering a new one just in case. If the existing BIOS chip is damaged or if someone else installed an incompatible one, that’s my concern. Finding the correct official compatible chip can be tricky since compatibility rules vary.
I think this is what you're looking for? I'm sure where to get these that ships to you country, which I don't know what country you're in. But AliExpress looks to have them? https://m.aliexpress.com/item/2255800202...4itemAdapt
It's only the chip here. It seems like nothing has been added yet.
