I attempted it too. The sole spare drive available is a Windows 7 drive from an almost unused machine. It still didn’t function, the installer simply stops after five seconds as expected.

Confirming the USB installation uses only the SSD/HDD being installed, not an additional USB drive. If using another USB, run the Windows installer on that drive with Media Creation Tool and attempt the install again on the spare disk.

I recently attempted that just a short while ago. I was using only the HDD with Windows installed. It still froze, and this time it actually crashed, forcing a full system restart. I'm stuck and unsure what to do next.

It typically appears only after three consecutive crashes. When you see a "Please wait" message, the system is likely in progress. If it continues to crash, there may be an issue with the hard drive, motherboard, RAM, or CPU. Try resetting to the default BIOS settings.
